# Why Maxbid?

Trading cryptocurrencies with leverage is a well-established practice, accessible on both centralized and decentralized platforms, including:

* Spot and futures margin trading on centralized exchanges (CEXs)
* Leveraged trading of perpetual futures on decentralized perpetual exchanges (Perp DEXs)

While we don’t position Maxbid Pro as universally superior to other platforms, it’s important to highlight the unique advantages Maxbid Pro brings to the table over existing options.

**Vs CEXs?**

The key distinction between Maxbid Pro and centralized exchanges (CEXs) is that Maxbid Pro operates in a fully decentralized manner. Unlike CEXs, Maxbid Pro is entirely non-custodial and permissionless, providing users with complete control and freedom over their assets.
